The Lift Engineering Society of Australia was founded in Melbourne in the early 1980’s by a group of lift industry individuals working as consultants, designers and or management of manufacturing and installation lift contractors. The first regular meeting were held in 1983.

The Lift Engineering Society of Australia was incorporated as an association 24th of October 1991 as the “Lift Engineering Society of Australia Inc.” LESA is developing into a forum for sharing Industry Information.
The member’s looks to LESA to keep them informed of changes to Codes, Industry Requirements, Occupational Health and Safety Issues and any other relevant information, which may affect the Industry. LESA meets regularly to receive Industry Technical Papers, followed by a dinner to encourage social interaction between members. This creates an informal setting for members to chat, get to know new members and make them feel welcomed.
